It’s time to restore some balance…
- Arrive on Friday 31st January from 3pm
- Depart on Monday 3rd February – check out 10am followed by a short morning session.
Our experts know a thing or two about wellness. Meet Clunie, Jean and Mikaila, all well-versed in the language of alternative healing and positive and welcoming leaders, for your relaxed three-night stay. Ness Walk, a skip from the historic and bustling city of Inverness, offers stunning outlooks onto the calming riverside. The serenity of this beauty spot will help still the mind and envelop you as you check in to your luxurious rooms. Aside from the main menu of restorative yoga, mindfulness and movement, geared toward inner contemplation, the team will offer ecotherapy, breathwork, journalling, fireside stories by the hotel’s firepit and a celebration of cacao. Weather permitting, some of the practices will be held outdoors on the nearby Ness Islands to connect us with the healing power of nature.
Meet our Experts
Hosting your winter wellness retreat are mindfulness coach, Clunie Phipps, yoga instructor, Mikaila Kelly and movement and journalling teacher, Jean West, who also happens to be a journalist. Together, you will explore deep but gentle mind and body techniques to promote relaxation and rejuvenation, setting you up for the year ahead.
Clunie Phipps
A mindfulness teacher, trained with the Mindfulness Association. She is dedicated to sharing the profound benefits of mindfulness meditation with a broad audience. Registered with B.A.M.B.A, Clunie incorporates Chi Gong and mindful movement into her teaching. With 30 years of experience in wellbeing, she is also a qualified Shiatsu and Indian head massage practitioner. Her wisdom and compassionate approach will guide you towards inner peace.

Jean West
A writer and dance practitioner familiar with the benefits of somatic movement and journalling. After a long healing journey recovering from Lyme Disease, she found both methods invaluable in returning her to wellness. She completed a white belt Nia practitioner qualification and adapted this with a decade of dance and movement as a template for workshops. Writing beyond her professional life as a journalist, she also discovered free writing and journalling, as means to engage with the authentic self.

Mikaila Kelly
A passionate yoga teacher from Canada, specialising in creating accessible and welcoming classes. Now based in Edinburgh, Mikaila’s work spans regular and trauma-informed yoga classes, community facilitation, and deepening meaningful conversations.
